The message about whales was grotesque... seriously. The movie was fun though. First one was also pretty good.

As for the series they're all almost unwatchable because emotions are so neutered. It was better when i was a kid because i was into space and spaceships but now that i also notice crap acting and weak scripts i just can't watch a single episode. TNG is still best of course (figure that one out non-nerds).

And i know how to settle a nerdwar. Let's simply rate on a LOL scale of 1-11 just how LOL the mountain climbing opening of Star Trek V was. Anyone who says <11 didnt watch it. Extra points for anyone who managed to watch more than half the film. It's terrible.

I have watched ALL the movies, part of TOS, up to season 3 of TNG, all of Voyager, all of DS9, none of TAS.
I liked mostly everything, i do agree that TNG is probably the best. What i don't like about TNG is the shape of the Enterprise-D, i prefer the NX-01(and NX-02), Enterprise-E and Enterprise-J. (oh and the prototype Prometheus-class)

Unwatchable?? lol. Thats simple, maybe u just dont like science fiction, thats all..

Any star trek show improves on every season, acting as well. The best example u have on TNG, that have an incredible character courve where all the actors learned season by season and u can notice that on the screen. Weak scripts??? lol, well, if u think star trek shows have weak scripts, then u should just stop watching science fiction shows, since almost all of the have even worst scripts than star trek's.. lol. TNG was precisely awarded by having the best scripts on a science fiction tv show (maybe not in the 2 first seasons, but after that...) along with many others nominations and prices. The problem of DS9, is that it had great episodes and really bad ones. And because that show was based around a religious main theme, not so many people liked it (me included) and even if for example, Voyager is worst in the first seasons than DS9, i really liked Voyager more than DS9, after the 2 first seasons. I really wanted a show more focused on action , with more interesting episodes (some episodes of voyager are really amazing, honestly) and with the Borg theme in the middle, so i really liked Voyager.

So, i must say i am really not a young person xD. And i am watching TNG again now that it is being remastered on HD and i am enjoying it A LOT. And yes, the 2 first seasons are just like an introduction, but the third season is just amazing. So, it doesnt matter if you are a kid or not, it is, u like science fiction shows or not lol. Star Trek was never oriented to kids anyways.. so a lot of the theories in the show are supossed to be experimental theories for futuristic applications, in the end you would say that Star Trek shows are maybe the most "realistic" ones xDD (just to say something.. and they are far from being realistic so... xD).

Well they are a little bit stiff... which is to expected because they are military officers.

Yet again that is why I liked ds9 the most. Barely anyone there is a actually from starfleet. Most are civilians who behave more normally. Also the characters are deeper than in most other shows. Gul Dukat for instance is not your standard villain.
Also for the Gods in ds9: they arent and all of what they do is explained through their different view of time. I found it really funny since Sisko is in fact the first one to meet them and then after that the prophets first start giving the Bajorans their relics in search for others like them. Which then creates the religion and the prophesies.
The only time i found them annoying was when the mine field got depleted and the dominion fleet got vaporized by the wormhole beings. That was lazy as hell.

Yes, DS9 and TNG maybe have the best character development of any star trek show, i cant deny that. But again, i just don like to base A LOT of episodes around the figure of the Bajoran Gods, thats really annoying and denotes a bit of lack of ideas on generating new episodes (maybe one of the weak points of the show). Gul Dukat was not a villain, he was just a Cardassian military officer that acted like a political intermediary on the show. His character required some times to do "bad" things xD, but in the end (if u remember) he was not really a villain, on the contrary. Things i liked from ds9, the dominion wars action episodes, THE DEFIANT, the Jem Haddar caracterizations, some characters like Odo or Jazxia Dax, Kira Neris, Gul Dukat was great too, some un-related episodes (for example the one that Jadzia and Quark are miniaturized along with the shuttle and they go into an enemy ship and mess up with all the Jem Haddar aboard lol, that episode was epic and well made, by the way) and nothing more. I also liked the cross over characters like Worf, from TNG. Things that i liked from TNG, almost everything lol..

Err, TNG improves really much in the season 3 +. The two first seasons are really just an introduction. If u didnt watch the rest of seasons of TNG, i really recommend u too, cuz even if the third season is maybe the best of the show, the rest are alike, and u have really memorable episodes in the last seasons (with the Borg and Data-Lore, the romulan wars, the klingon episodes, some of em epic xD, etc). I also dont like too much the shape of the Enterprise D, but even if so, its a great design.
