[BETA][.60] Extra Scoop release!

Hey everyone,

Gotten to the point where you barely read the events anymore because you've seen them all? Clicking mindlessly on the one answer you always choose? Never see special crew events, or ones that use your huge complement of weapons?

Extra Scoop of Vanilla is the mod for you!

This mod is designed to add more flavor to the game without adding new events or changing the overall experience. There is new text and options for many events as well as some new weapon families to use in events. There is also an event that makes use of the x-dependent code... I'm done with more than half of the non-sector specific events. These include distress signals, empty space, and several encounters. Most of the merchant encounters have had some work done on them now too. The purpose of this release is to get something playable out into the community for playtesting. The link below should lead you to a copy of the .ftl I have put together.

This link is for the most current stable version (.60):

Currently this works just fine for me, loads with out problem. Compatible with pretty much anything that does not change the vanilla events. There is new text for almost every encounter (in fact many have been switched to lists, with at least 4 options compared to the original 1), new choices based on crew types, systems, and weapons on board. The blue options feature bombs, new crew choices, and main systems much more as well as a variety of other new content.

I'm looking for bug reports and typos as well as feedback on balance, etc. I strive to keep the balance about the same with a few harsher outcomes and a few more lucrative ones as well. Ideas for Zoltan racial events accepted as well ;) .

Version number will indicate my progress through the files, with fixes carrying an alphabetical suffix.
I.E:
.50a would indicate the first update without new content but with new bug fixes.
.50b newer version with updates but no new content.
.55 updated with content.

Done, see above. I realized that it would be silly to release a mod build around preserving the vanilla feel with fleet disabled.

Yes, please! I've found a few errors already and I'm sure there are more. Typos, rewards displayed at the wrong time, etc.

It adds more events to the game to give it more variety for multiple playthroughs.

Yeah, what might not have been clear from the original post is that this is a 0.50 release of a mod discussed on another thread: "Extra Scoop of Vanilla", as originally discussed over here: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=3543

Well, I guess it depends how far you read in the original post, lol. Edited now, should be a little more straightforward. New version released tonight! New event goodness! Please post any bugs you find, feedback, etc!
