So you love FTL but are struggling to win? You've come to the right place.

Rather than publishing my tips as text on a web page, I decided to record a video demonstrating them. This is one way to win on Medium using the starting ship, the Kestral. This playlist of 8 videos (1 per sector) is a bit longer than others as I take time to explain what I'm doing and why.
I have a risky and aggressive playstyle, so I face plenty of extra, self-inflicted peril. Plus I make several big mistakes in this run so I'm constantly on the edge of disaster. I'm experienced enough to have a good handle on my limits, but I still enjoy testing them. My point is that new players may die frequently taking the kinds of risks I take, like voluntarily facing the rebel fleet, running on low hull and fuel, buying weapons way before I can use them, and abandoning ship to go on boarding runs. If real lives were on the line, this is the point where I'd say, "don't try this at home!" But it's FTL so instead I've just made it clear in the video where I'm taking especially big risks, and I say, "feel free to use or avoid these tactics as you see fit." :^)
