Federation Victory(Normal) but no cruiser?

I just defeated the flagship, all three modes. It is well and truly destroyed, I got the Federation Victory (Normal) and Federation Victory (Easy) all in one go. But.. I have no federation cruiser? Is it unlocked a different way? This is kinda agravating cause I was one step away from getting the Stealth cruiser.. the blighter FTLed away just before his engine blew. And now no federation cruiser as well..
Oh well. Love the game.
Anyone know if Federation cruiser is bugged or atainable a different way?
