Federation Cruiser didn't unlock after first play-through

Hello,

I just defeated the endboss of ftl (extra content disabled) for the first time.

But the Federation Cruiser isn't available in the list of ships.

I dit the "Unarmed Zoltan Transport random event" at the same play-through and the Zoltan Cruiser is now unlocked (maybe this has something to do with this).

Is this a bug or something?

Unlocking another ship should not have caused that. I've unlocked 2 ships in the same playthrough before and not had a problem.

Did you beat the final boss with the Engi cruiser? That will unlock the federation cruiser. Just beating the game doesn't do it. That goes for all ships. You can only unlock them by beating the game with the ship immediately before it in the list.

There is also an encounter in the Rebel Stronghold sector. Go to that sector every time and jump to beacons with nothing special listed, and when you find it investigate the shipyard. There's a moderately easy battle with GREAT rewards, including the Federation Cruiser.

So now i'm looking for shipyard-thing in the Rebel Stronghold Sector.

That information is old, for the previous version of the game. I'd discount most any advice I see on the game from before April 2014.
