advanced edition not working on steam

I have FTL on steam but I can't use advanced edition content. I have the hard difficulty setting and advanced edition ships unlocked but It says "enable advanced edition content to access". ive tried deleting and reinstalling from both steam and online but nothings worked.

Have you tried enabling advanced edition content? There's a button for it in the hangar.
