Crew members attacking a door don't count as "in the room"

- Transport two crew members onto an enemy ship that has at least blast doors.
- Wait until your transporter is usable again.
- Tell one crew member to go to another room. They will start trying to get through the door (but are still in the same room).
- Try to transport your crew back.

Only one of your crew will come back - the one who was not trying to go through the door. They were both in the room that you were trying to transport out of, so they should both come back.

Apparently this bug has been fixed in the beta patch. Sorry for the duplicate.

This is by design and has not been fixed :(

The teleporter relies on the room limit by design. If it were allowed to teleport people moving, then you could put more than the room limit into one room and teleport your entire crew without the cooldown penalty for each group. The only fix the patch provides is if a crewmember is moving while in the room that they will stop moving in, preserving the room limit for teleportation but making last second mistakes/teleports more feasible.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that should only be a major issue for teleporting crew to the enemy ship, not for retrieving them, right? I mean sure, if you allowed crew attacking enemy doors to be teleported back, then you could retrieve more crew than you're supposed to be able to do...but I think that minor exploit is not as important as fixing the unintuitive behavior that a crewmember attacking a door can't be retrieved.

I ran into this myself, except in my case both my crewmembers were attacking the door, so the teleporter just flat-out refused to work. If I hadn't heard about having to have the crew standing still for the teleporter to function, I wouldn't have had a clue what was going on.

On smaller ships which only have 2-person rooms, it could still allow you to more easily retrieve a 4-person assault team who are all near death (a situation that I recently ran into with my Mantis boarding squad).

Right, as I said, there's potential for an exploit here when retrieving crew, but personally I think it's more important that the teleporter work the way people expect it to (in this case) than that it prevent that exploit. Maybe others think the exploit is more serious though.

It's clear that being able to teleport more than two of your crew to the enemy ship would be a problem.

It doesn't count them if they've arrived in the room but haven't stoped yet. I've lost crew to this crap because I was in a hurry to get them out, and that's without having them attack a door, just being in motion.

This is the part that has been fixed in the new build (or so I hear from reading the changelogs, since it's still just a Steam beta). As long as the room they're moving towards is the one they're in and the one you're teleporting out of, then in the new build, they should teleport out, as well.

I sort of have an issue with this but in a different sense. Was working on getting the achievement for locking 4 enemy crew members in a room to unlock the second ship, but since one of them kept insisting on getting back to the pilot seat, it didn't count (getting him off the pilot seat to begin with involved Scooby-Doo shenanigans involving my crew running circles in their ship by the way). Later in the same run, I did get invaded by 7 crew (mostly Zoltan and Engi, so big whoop there) where I did get it, but it was because they weren't trying to run anywhere.

Even got a picture of the annoyance.
