[Suggestion] Team Fights

Not sure if this has been suggested before, but I'd like to see fights where there could be more than 1 ship on each side.
Difficulty could greatly increase if you're up against a pair of ships, and mercenaries could have an additional option - to follow you for X turns and assist you in fights. "Escort" missions will now be more than just a delayed reward effect, since a lightly armed vessel will be alongside you as an easy target for pirates.
This could also open up new ship selection possibilities - you could play as a small squadron of smaller ships. Maybe even a "fleet" mode where you hire more vessels as you progress.
Interface-wise, the cleanest would be to allow a maximum of 2 vessels on each side of the battle, and have each one's full inventory displayed as normal, at a slightly reduced size. For anything more, the "non-targeted" ships could be displayed next to the "active" ship as thumbnails, which when clicked will place that ship in the "active" window.
