What are the odds?

Today, I started with a Stealth Cruiser and somewhere
around 6th sector, during 3 or 4 jumps I got around 300
scrap
. With maximum shields I entered 7th sector and now
I'm in a battle where I can't do any damage to a Rebel Rigger
and he can't do any to me. Now I've turned on autofire and I'm
waiting for the crew to get golden stats before I jump
