I can't seem to get sound on the game, I've tried the sliders on each side, restarted the game but no sound comes out.

Oh no! Close then game, and then can you check the game's install folder for the file "stdout.txt" and print its contents here for me?

Edit: Thought I should add I downloaded the game through Steam.

What OS are you using? Are you on a laptop or a desktop? And are you using built in speakers/external speakers/or headphones?

And I know this is a stupid question but.... does sound work on the rest of your computer? Specifically, if you're in Windows, can you play music or videos with sound in Windows Media Player?

Your log suggests that it should function fine! Hope we can figure it out.

I just deleted it and re-downloaded and its started working. Something must of been corrupted when I downloaded.

Howdy! I am also having this problem.

I am on Windows 7 and FTL is the only thing without sound. I tried uninstalling, restarting, then re-installing but to no avail. I am at my wits end.

For now I guess I will just play without the glorious sound... =(

Nevermind. I had to turn down the quality level on my sound card so that it would work.

I am running Windows 8 and like XelaReko, FTL is the only thing without sound. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it to no avail

Is there any fix for this issue?

I've purchased FTL again after playing it shortly after launch. On my old PC I loved the sound and I wanted to get into the "advanced edition" but without sound the experience is less interesting.

Everything I see shows the sound should be working. I'm on Windows 8. I've deleted + reinstalled.
