I just started playing the game a few hours ago, and i seem to be having trouble with a few items i bought that are in my cargo hold right now, a Sys. Repair, Anti-Pers. and an Anti-Ship.

I cant seem to install them, do they all count as drones? That would explain it since i dont have that system installed.

Yes, all of those are Drones. I don't think it says so on the tooltip, which is a bit strange in my opinion.

Something i took some time to notice is that you can sell stuff you don't want at stores, so you can at least get some scrap for those drones you can't use. Unless you want to buy a drone system at some point, of course, then you might want to save one or two of them.

Another question on how to actually use them, i have a drone system now, spare power and they are installed... Anything else i have to do to actually get them to do anything? I'm not seeing them.

You have to pull them into one of the drone slots in your equipment menu, and then in combat you have to click that drone to activate it. That costs 1 drone part, which can be retrieved if you have a drone retrieving arm. After doing that, it should then circle either your or the enemy's ship and do its thing, depending on what type of drone it is.

Click their icons to activate them on the Drone system (next to the weapon system)

Sys. Repair & Anti-Pers. appear on your own ship. They will only act if, well, there's a system needing repair or personnels needing "anti". Ahem.

Anti-Ship will appear around your enemy's ship and start firing lasers right away.

Note that external drones like the Anti-Ship will consume 1 drone each time. Internal drones (Sys. Repiar and Anti-Pers.) will only consume a new drone if the old one is destroyed.
