When out of fuel, all hostile ships try to run away

I noticed that when my ship runs out of fuel, nearly all ships I encounter activate their FTL right away and try to escape, but without any text message telling me so.

Moreover it often makes little sense for the ships to run away - sometimes I met a rebel ship boasting it is his lucky day because he found me and will destroy my ship, yet as soon as the battle starts he charges his FTL to escape....

Not a bug. It stops stalemates.

Normally you'd be able to jump away from a stalemate, but if you've got no fuel you'd be stuck.

Could there be at least a message about them charging their FTL?

Upper right hand corner should say "Enemy ... something or other"

No, it doesn't say that, but it does specifically state that the engines are charging. And when they're about to go it says something like "JUMP IMMINENT"

I mean, in all other settings there is a popup telling you the enemy is charging their FTL...

This is a relatively rare situation, and writing a unique explanation as to why they are running away for every event would be overkill. So we've opted for a silent jump charge.
