I've got a friend playing ftl on his macbook (Never cheated or hacked the game a day in his life) who came across something really unusual. An unarmed Zoltan ship- no shields nor weapons, that came up with regular battle event text.

although a screenshot is present, he cant remember the sector (and didn't have sensors enough to see inside)
he was playing on easy.

I checked the wiki and it said something about there being this ship in the game files allegedly for the use in the Zoltan ship quest, but I distinctly remember doing that quest multiple times and never getting any ship on the other side, just text. This was not that event.

That is in fact from the Zoltan Peace quest.

This is what happens when instead of listening to them and being so peaceful, you attack them instead, this is when the ship pops up. As you see it is listed hostile.

the dumkopf told me it was regular event text >.<

In his defense, there is no way to tell what is a regular or special event text by playing it unless you do the specifics and unlock a ship.

Even then that is - coding wise, not special at all. just a quest that gives you a cool reward and if you have the ship, it will give you some other reward ie zoltan shield, high ammount of scrap, etc.

coding wise it is all the same.

"Special events" may be considered to be the ones with good reward or are rare.

true, but he did already have the ship unlocked- so i'm confused as to why he didn't reconize it.
