When your drone is destroyed there is a cool down preventing you from immediately deploying another one but this cool down does not reset when you jump.

Were you jumping from a hazard? Nothing resets when you jump from a hazard like a sun or asteroids, or out of a battle that you've not won.

And certain things aren't instantly back up on jumps, like shields. This could be similar.

I was jumping out of battle, I didn't know it was not supposed to reset.
