I have FTL on the iPad and I'm using the first Engi ship with drones. When I use a hull repair drone, it eats all my remaining drone parts. I can't tell if this is a bug, or if it's the iPad's weird touch sensitivity and I dragged it up too fast or slow and it interpreted it as me powering and depowering 20 times or what. Or maybe I'm just not using it right? When I'm hovering in space I just drag up two bars to power the drone. It's worked in the past but on this run all my drone parts get used, which makes it unplayable since I only have ion weapons.

Also beneath your drone part counter, does it say "-1" multiple times or "-(number of drone parts)" once?

Here's a video, there are multiple -1's and I think it's interpreting my drag as powering/depowering it quickly maybe.

Maybe it's your second attack drone. Since you have three bars of drone power but it would take four to power both drones, the game quickly powers/depowers the second drone, eating your drone parts.
Try putting the combat drone in the lower slot, and the hull repair in the upper, then try again. (I guess you'd have to be in battle)

Also try powering it more with the hull repair drone already powered up.

I'd like to know if anyone else is having this problem. Is it a bug, or intended behavior and we're supposed to be powering the drone in a different way?

Why I don't use Hull Repair drones.

I don't run this on an iPad but on my Windows machine I've never had this problem, and while I don't go out of my way to use Hull Repair drones, I do take advantage of them whenever they drop in my lap.

Hull Repair drones are the best - just think of the flawless victories you can achieve!

Thanks for reading but this isn't a thread about how good or bad hull repair drones are, it's whether or not this is a bug. I think it clearly is. Is this a "will not fix" type of bug? Do people from the company read/respond to this forum?
