Is there a way to increase your weapon accuracy or is getting a lucky hit against an enemy's engine/pilot controls the only way to lower their dodge?

Well, you don't really have to rely on luck. Boarders can destroy the engines/helm. But as far as increasing accuracy? No. Although, I don't believe that beam weapons can miss (correct me if I'm wrong), but you still have to reduce shields for most beams.

Right on, I was thinking about teleporting in too, but in a lot of cases that renders everything else moot since they'll attack your crew, etc.

Hadn't thought about beam weapons though. Very interesting. Thanks.

I totally forgot about beam weapons. Yeah, they always hit. They are not dodgeable. Which is why they are so powerful with mixed in properly.

Level your weapons crew. Not convinced this affects accuracy but for sure it increases rate of fire, so statisitcally your hits per unit time increase...

Also this. Consider the fire beam if you can find one, if not the pike. Draw a line of their helm and engines, sit back, and watch the hits roll in...

If you teleport someone into their cockpit and engage the pilot in fisticuffs without damaging the room does it still count as manned? (do they still get the evasion bonus/ability to ftl?)

Yes. As long as there's a pilot in the room it counts as manned I think.

It counts as manned, but I think that they don't get the bonus from the pilot (5%-15% I believe).

All weapons will hit 100% of the time, they are 100% accurate. What you're seeing when you miss is the enemy ships evade chance, just like your ship. To reduce it, take out the helm, pilot, or engines, just like on your ship.
