I was trying out the Demo version on Windows 10 (which worked fine yesterday). Today when I choose Fullscreen and 16:9 Ratio I get :-

EXECUTION ERROR in creation code of room room_main
In script mainmenu:
Error in code at line 19:
color_outline=ini_read_intx(pdir+'\data\profile\'+player_profile+'\settings.ini','options','GUI color',ds_map_find_value(map_GUIcolor,"blood"));
^
at position 52: Wrong type of arguments to +.

Any help would be appreciated.

This appears to happen about 50% of my launch attempts.

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the game? Also, from where did you originally purchase your copy?

I downloaded the demo from the link in the Rock Paper Shotgun article.

I will uninstall/re-install the game and try again.

Update :

Deleted and re-installed twice. Same error repeatedly when trying to launch game. I have tried all screen options.
