Game crashing and freezing pc

This has only been happening for a few days. The game plays fine for about a half hour. Then, usually after i purchase a weapon or make some other change the game becomes laggy, glitchy and finally completely locks up my computer. Only a hard reset gets things going again. Anyone else had something similar? It was fine for about a month after buying it. Running on windows 10 with a gtx960.
