QUESTION: How to make own translation?

Postby ThePaperMask » Wed Dec 28, 2016 10:52 pm

Alright peeps. I recently saw that people made translations for FTL in russian, spain, france, etc. Then I saw that there was no german translation. I immediatly wanted to make one as I enjoy doing these kind of things, and it would also help the german FTL community that might not speak english well understand the game better. My question is: How do I make one?
Before you go hate on me because I may missed something, consider that I am
New here. Okay?
Thank you for your understanding and for taking your time to read this.

Welcome to the FTL Forums! :D

You will want to install Slipstream Mod Manager. Instructions on how to do so are on the topic. viewtopic.php?f=12&t=17102

When you've loaded Slipstreeam up hit the File button, and a little box underneath it will slide out and give you several options; one of those is Extract Dats. Click it, and you can choose where the extracted files will be on your computer.

Go to the folder you've created with the FTL data and wellah! All of that text is there in .xml files!
I've created Type C Hulls for the enemy Mantis, Slug, Rock, and Zoltan ships, and anyone can use these for a mod.
Check out the details here.
