Suggestions: Couple very minor

Just some very minor suggestions from my first few hours of play

1: Map, when you hover over a jump node draw a circle that shows that nodes you can reach from that target.

2: Crew, next to their name/icon put a symbol showing their highest 'manning' skill.

3: Crew, allow the order of crew to be re-ordered.

4: Crew, allow crew to be renamed. Also expand crew name selection and make the name pools race specific (I had a human named Emily then got an Engi called Emily also. Any of these 3 actions would fix that).

5: Sandbox mode. OK maybe not so small, but I'd really like some kind of sandbox mode. Either allowing me to create any ship startup I like or perhaps just an open universe rather than the campaign orientated one we have now.

6: Save on quit, continue on re-opening the game. I'm not entirely happy with no Saving to be honest, almost tempted to run it in a VM and save the state! Either way, save on quit is required.

I perfectly understand some of these may already be in the pipe, we're just in beta after all.

1. Any additional info on the Map would be excellent.
2. Would like this one too.
3. Re-ordered, renamed during the game, hot-key assigned
4. Yes! :-)
5. Open mode would be very cool, maybe in FTL 2.0? Outfitting your own ship is cool too. And then maybe a Save on Quit.

I support sandbox-oriented modes as well. I actually propose that they become unlockable - things like start with any item up to a certain Scrap cost, or things like getting bonus starting scrap to customize before game start and customizable crew. I'd also love an unlockable option that lets you buy anything under (sector * 20) scrap from the stores!

I would also like to support seeing the connections. I suspect, however, that they might not go for it. I'd love it, but it might make it harder to get stuck in horrible cul-de-sacs.

I also like the crew skill icons - you can't access the crew manifest during combat and sometimes I don't remember which King is the weapons guy. XD

Those are all great ideas! My biggest suggestions off the top of my head are (in order of importance):
  • 1: Please can F1 - F8 toggle crew members?! Please!!!!!
    2: Hotkeys in general! (Jump, Ship, Crew, Equipment, etc.)
    3: Even though I can't make changes, allow me to look at my Upgrades, Crew and Equipment panels in battle, etc.
    4: When showing your rewards after a battle, can there be a new line after each item; it's confusing to read when they are all on one line (ie - Fuel: 3 Drone Parts: 1 Scrap: 15)
    5: Ensure that when initially generating a crew that there are no duplicate names (very confusing if you don't notice)
I am really really loving this game but these few things have been bugging me since i started playing it.

I will try to find some more suggestions!
