Possible bug: Got extra crewmember in single survivor event

Situation was the following:
Federation loyalist was chased by rebel ship
I chose to fight rebel ship
Destroyed Rebel ship
The Federation ship was damaged and I was offered to save survivors.
Message said single person survived.
I got 2 new crew members.
Not complaining
But...
I guess either the message is wrong or the amount of extra crew members is wrong.
Edit: Just had the same thing happen again, except this time I had teleporter, and I beamed up survivors on ship.
Message said one joined, but I got 2 new crew members.
