The Federation Cruiser Getting Killed Since the Last Patch

The new gun on the Federation Cruiser is cool and all but I keep getting murdered in the first system since I can't do enough damage in the beginning. One luck hit on my weapons and it ends the game in the first system.

Aim for enemy weapons system. Let the artillery láser finish the job.
