So why do you have the same mission each time you play FTL ( Destroy the capital ship ) well there are 2 possibilities

1. Each time you fail the the explosion of your ships reactor causes a rip in the time space continuum repeating the mission in till you succeed

2. Each run is a simulation within a Federation Academy based on the original journey of the Kestral

If you can think of any other reason post it here.

Option number 3: OR you fail horribly and everyone in the federation dies.
Thats what most likely happend.

Maybe its just a game and it repeats because its so hard and for more amounts of fun?
There doesn't have to be a reason or story for everything, its like why asking Commander Shepard is going through the story again when you just started over.

Game repeats because it's an Indie game.

They are bad.

Personally, i'm never paying for a video game again until I can try a demo of it; lol you cannot return digital downloads for a refund in North America and yet they are butt hurt about piracy.

Rofl. Rich old white guys and their laws.

The ignorance is strong in this one...

I'm really starting to think he's a troll or something.

Sigh. If you could RETURN something once you finish, then how the hell would anyone make any money? There would be no piracy that way because there wouldd be no games.

All indie games are bad? See: World Of Goo, Braid, Limbo, Super Meat Boy, FTL, The Binding of Isaac, etc.

What gave it away...? :?
No worries. Everyone's entitled to their opinions, even the folks who don't like the game. That said, if someone's joining up just to mouth off and cause problems, you can bet they'll be staring down the wrong end of a bancannon soon enough.

Wrong on both counts too.

1. There's a gazzilion youtube videos and Let's Plays, if that isnt enough to showcase the game, idk what is.

2. You can get a refund if the game doesn't work on your computer.

A demo was planned but put on hold for some reason. It would be usefull to see if the game works before buying it, but like i said, all the stores selling the game are professional and will refund, even if they don't explicitly advertise this.

The only way to explain why this mission is repeated again and again is the whole thing takes place in a crude simulation.

A game, in fact.

But you were dead a thousand times, hopeless encounters successfully won...you follow the path, fitting into an infinite pattern.

I know who you are.
