[Suggestion] Spacestations

I was just wondering if there is any chance of large space-stations appearing in the game. I imagine its unlikely with the way the game is being made, but that picture in one of the previous updates/emails of a man doing some rep[air work on the ship made me think of how cool it would be to be able to dock at a space station and leave your ship to be repaired or majorly upgraded/overhauled while you explore a space station with your crew. E.g. walk into a bar to talk to a hiring area and do mini text events in the bars such as hiring people or getting into fights. etc.

It would be slightly different the idea being you are risking your man rather than the ship on the different possible event encounters that could occur in different areas of the spacestation.

I kinda like the idea but I think the main theme about FTL is "speed".

You're trying to outrun a powerful enemy chasing you down so I'm not sure about extended stays in space stations fitting into the game.

I'm all for cantinas and space bar fights, but this could be accomplished through fully textual means, without having to create graphics better spent on adding more ships.

So +1 for space station text events. -1 for physically clicking around it.

Text based space stations is a good idea. They could also be made as ships with no ability to evade but significant amounts of weapons, shields, hp and crew. As in

-you come out of hyperspace next to a rebel space station

To hell with that i want to foght the stations lol

Imagine an enemy so large you only see one section of it at a time in the enemy view now that would be a fight :)

Of course the reward for beating a space station would have to be fairly huge

Perhaps an assault on a spacestation would make an excellent "boss" fight in the campaign mode they're fleshing out. Could be pretty epic. [BSG SPOILER] For some reason I'm thinking of the Battlestar Galactica crashing into the cylon ship at the end of the series. [/BSG SPOILER]*

Agreed text based stations could be a way forward;
Perhaps if a friendly spacestation was found, it would be possible to recruit more crewmembers, to join your ship.
After all, giant space station+ huge amount of enemy forces= sitting duck. I'm sure some people living on that spacestation would want to join the fight in that situation (i sure would....)

If SPAZ taught me anything is that when you attack a space station expect lots of people to be vented into space. LOTS.
