Playing as late-game flame behemoths, I am fairly sure the tanks were displaying the fire immunity buff. On the last turn, I moved one of the tanks onto a fire tile for positioning, but I do not recall if it ignited the unit or not. When I ended the turn, I lost that tank to fire, with no enemies left. If it's relevant, I also unlocked and was using the rockman pilot this run.
Not a bug, but certain environmental effects take far too long; especially when they aren't having any effect. (Lightning bolts, for example) Perhaps wrap this into the combat speed setting?

Pretty sure this is intentional. The description states "All Mechs are immune to Fire", the tanks are not mechs.

Certain units are immune to flame all the time, regardless of if you're using that augment or not. I know for a fact that the train is, because I just did a train mission and the tracks were all kinds of lit up.
I don't know for sure if the tanks (and the artillery) are, but I think they are. You can know for sure the next time you play their mission, check their status icons upon selection.
