[Modding] Structure of the event files

Postby chronial » Tue Sep 25, 2012 12:29 am

Hi,

I spend some time and documented the exact structure of the event files. You can find it here: http://ftlwiki.com/wiki/Events_file_structure.

There are some parts that I was to lazy to document/couldn’t find out as I didn’t run the game but only looked at the what was already there. Any help on those would be very much appreciated.

Have fun creating new events :)

Thanks for that, but the big problem with events is they are very temperamental. Lot's of unexplained crashes. What we need is a lot of trial and error to figure out the exact syntax of these things.

I haven’t played to much with modifying the events, but I would recommend you get a xml viewer that supports xpath. If you know how to look for it, there’s examples for a lot of scenarios in the event files.
