"Leave The Madman To His Ravings"

When you get the option to pick up one of those guys of questionable mental health, does he ever ever do anything good? I've literally, LITERALLY picked him up 9 times and 8 of those times he either kills a crew member, blows a hole in my ship, and the best outcome I've ever got was my 9th time where he just died during transport.

Does he even have the capacity to do anything useful?

Occasionally he'll settle in and join your crew, but I don't know what the likelihoods of the various outcomes are - it's happened to me a couple of times.
...common and uninteresting.

You get a blue option if you have a level 2 medbay, which lets him join your crew.

He will settle in if there is no mention of his mental state.
If he is mad however you will need either a level 2 or 3 medbay. I assume that lvl 2 gives you a fair chance to cure his condition and lvl 3 a better chance. (I think i have gotten 2 blue options with a lvl 3 medbay)

Yeah Gorlom, I had the same thing happen with Medbay Level 3 giving me two options. It seems kind of weird that you have 2 options like that for one system. Unintended perhaps?

As I said I think the lvl2 and lvl3 medibay options have different RNG outcomes. :D

Medbay 2 option is instead of bringing him back to the ship and adds him to your crew.
If you bring him back to the ship, you have 25% good outcome (joining), but if he dies (25%) you can revive him with Medbay 2.
Of course if you have medbay 2 you should immediately heal him instead of bringing him back to the ship.
If you have slug in your crew, he offers a better option than just bringhing him back to the ship, but it is worse than having medbay 2.
