When I try to run the install, AVG Shield says that there is a Trojan virus in the file. The file I downloaded and tried to run was "ftldat-latest.exe" is this the wrong file for the installer?

This is a mistake in AVG Shield (and many other anti-viruses). This has been discussed many times in this thread. ;)

When I try to repack "resource", I keep getting an error "Errno 13 permission denied". Not sure what this means, since the folder is not read-only and I have administrator privileges. Been searching the entire forums and haven't found a solution yet. I get the same error message when trying to install .ftl files with GMM, so there's some error either with the script or on my end when it comes to repacking. I have windows 7 64-bit, and I'm using the DRM-free version of FTL. Help please? Any ideas what might be wrong?

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm an idiot - Should have read the first post better :P

i tried downloading the installer and the python script but neither seem to work, i tried unpacking but it doesn't read the steamapp files (i put the ftldat folder in the Documents folder and it doesn't seem to recognise the FTL Faster Than Light folder, which it's precise name)

Just visiting to drop info about the trojan problem. I tested the executable with caspersky, AVG and f-secure, all positive. What's the deal with the trojans?

I also submitted ftldat-latest.exe to f-secure online laboratory and it resulted as positive. Screenshot below.

Hey, please don't post your excessively big screenshot in several threads!

You totally misunderstood what was in the screenshot! There is no "two trojans". There is no trojan!

In your screenshot, there are two antivirus programs (Aquarius and Hydra OS X) that mistakenly think ftldat.exe is a trojan.

You will notice that Hydra PC is not fooled, along with eight other antivirus programs who are fine with ftldat.exe!
