So, how many extra points do I get for using the NightHawk?

Probably quite a few what with that ship being a death trap and all.

I haven't played it for myself though, so I don't know exactly how that would go. Best of luck to you if you're going to try it though: you're certainly going to need it. ;D

Well, I've heard a report of someone beating the flagship with it, so it's possible. but with just the one crew member, IDK

I'll try this with the Slug A, seems like it'd be fun.
Advantages: self-sealing hull, blast doors, major system rooms close by (good for drones,) extra scrap from killing crew, slugs have no cons, medbay next to O2
Disadvantages: no drone bay, fires are a problem

I'm likely ging to vent the entire aft section of the ship, excluding the drone bay, medbay, and O2. And maybe get improved blast doors and level 3 helm.

Kestral A attempts on Normal - Beacon paths off. Its not an additional challenge otherwise

#1-3 Deaths by Sector 2
#4 Very promising. Have my Drone System with Defense I and Sys Repair. Blast Doors 2. Shields 2 bubbles. Sporting Burst Laser I; Burst Laser II; Heavy Laser I (unpowered - next scrap); Artemis (unpowered). Weapon-wise, that could be enough to kill the boss. Have 6 sectors to survive, buy a Cloak System and upgrade Shields and Engines.

Got to the flagship, second stage. Weston died from a boarding drone to the helm during the power surge.

Ion Blast Mark II
Halberd beam

Level 3 shields
Level 5 engines
Cloak level 2
2 System repair drones
Level 3 medbay (for fighting against multiple mantis in medbay)

Probably would have lost anyway, the flagship was almost in range of the base.

For example, if you found the crystal fellow in the pod could you fire your mantis or engi and take him on as your sole survivor?

I would think that the crystal ship A would be the winner for this challenge... as having that lockdown would be mighty handy.

I think the only requirement is that you only have one active crew at a time. So yes, you COULD switch them out, even though that would NOT be advisable.

I don't see why not. You'd lose any piloting skill your crew had though, so I'm not sure that's the best plan.

Yeah, those boarding drones were one of the most irritating things to deal with I found. Especially since my single crew was an Engi, so it took him FOREVER to kill them.

You got pretty darn close though, nicely done!

For some reason I thought having THREE DRONE MINIONS was going to be the way to achieve victory in this scenario.

So I took the engi's type A cruiser out of spaceport and immediately fired the two robots and set off on a course across the galaxy with THE DONALD at the helm of the TRUMP THIS.

Things were going great.

I was just about to jump into sector 7 with a gadget filled ship that would make BATMAN proud.

Defence drone 1
Defence drone 2
Anti ship 1
Anti ship 2
Anti personel drone
System repair drone

Burst laser 1
Ion 2
Breach Missiles...

Weapon preigniter
drone recovery arm
med bots

And I had some scrap in the bank to max out weapons, shields, or engines depending on things turned.

But then the most powerful RNG event happened in the game.

There was a "chime." Very similiar to the noise one hears in space when their engines are ready for an FTL jump... it was a little LOUDER and bit HIGHER in pitch.

THE DONALD was killed by a WINDOWS UPDATE.

You're kidding?! That should have kicked off the mother of all rages...

If you want the best of both worlds, let Windows check for updates automatically, but disallow it to install them automatically. It would mean a periodic trip to the Control Panel so you could manually install the updates. Windows will even remind you to do this from time to time, so you wont forget. You will have control over when updates are installed and the computer restarted.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!

After THE DONALD died to a serious case of EVENT HORIZON with the WINDOWS UPDATE last night I decided to play BATMAN flying the BATBOX.

If anyone can save the universe solo it is THE BATMAN. He booted ROBIN and ALFRED out of the ship to save the day solo... and it was an epic fight at the end.

I am making up a video with some of the highlights and some really terrible voice acting!

Hopefully I will have that posted soon.

This was FUN.

I love this game.
