Mantis ship in rockman sector got wierd blue option I think

Ok I've gotten this encounter that has peaked my interest. It's a mantis ship in a rock sector that is draped with Rockman corpses..

I get a blue option to let the rockman on my crew provoke them into battle or something by speaking over the com with them.
This doesn't seem to give the usual positive benefits that I would expect. So it must be a multi-parter or something?
But I didn't get anything to follow up on.
I got 2 Rockmen crew members, an Engi crewmember, a mantis crew member, a Zoltan crewmember (and two worthless human crewmembers that never give any blue options! bah!) I got rank 2 med bay, rank 2 sensors (+ long range scanners and 2 scrap recovery arms) and rank 1 teleporter and rank 1 artillery beam (Yes, I'm on the osprey)

I also have the standard mark 2 burst laser, a drone system with a defense drone and 2 upgrades to the engines.

I ported over and slaughtered the enemy crew on their ship, without getting any surrender or special outcome.
(I have previously encountered the same encounter with a less equippd ship without teleporter and killed them normally without getting anything then either)

I'm not sure exactly what I could be missing? An upgraded teleporter? Has anyone gotten any fluff/continuation out of this encounter?

Same here. I though a rockman with a mantis side-by-side would give the other ship a reason to not attack you.

No idea though, if anyone sees something different out of this outcome, share it with us!

I dont remember the my load-out, but I also ran into this.

(Rock crew) blue options gives same result as plain "Attack!"
Only different blue option is if you have Rock Ship, which might be a bit difficult
