Are there going to be any post-release additions to the game
I just found this game last week and I am immensely disappointed I couldn't hop on board with kickstarter being over. I have been watching the gameplay videos online and I am very excited to get my hands on it. Though, I have one question. I was wondering if there is any plans to continue adding more gameplay in the future? As in going to planets, interacting with space stations, battles with multiple ships, etc. I love everything I am already seeing in-game and I can see so much more that could be added to expand it!

I'm in the same boat [almost] as you. I funded with the $10 version and did not get into the beta so all i can do is watch videos at present.
As far as I know the game will be out for sale in September this year, so I guess what they have done in the last update will be around 90% of the game done. The rest will be a small closed beta with new release date content for the beta testers to play - This is how I would do it not the FTL people.
As to your other ideas; I think it's too late in the development cycle for these, but you never know for a sequel or DLC.
Fingers crossed anyhow!

You all are going to have to hang on a bit longer, though I really wish Justin'd just let loose with an open beta and be done with it all.
Soon, my FTL-deprived colleagues... Soon!

Hey.
We're triple checking the release date before we announce it but it should be around early to mid September. It will be sold for $10 on our website, Steam, GoG and maybe as part of an OnLive package. (If you buy it on our site it helps us more plus you'll get a Steam key anyways
) The soundtrack will be availble through Ben Prunty's BandCamp website and potentially through Steam as well.
We hope to continue to work on FTL on and off, but we will need a break after the release; it's been an intense 6 months/year. There's a lof of stuff, both large and small, that never made it into the release and I imagine a lot of the smaller content patches will be added as free updates. If we end up working on a larger update that takes a few months of development, we may consider selling it as proper 'DLC' for something in the $1-$5 range. Keep in mind that this is all far off right now so it's more speculation that a concrete plan at this point.
Thanks for the interest and let me know if you have any more questions.
