Enemy ship warning sign disappears after visiting shop

So once again I was forced to jump out of a fight, next beacon being a shop, where I bought three fuel to have a whopping total of three fuel. Anyway, after having accomplished the purchase, the red triangle warning of a ship left at the previous beacon has disappeared. Sector 3, Civilian on v1.5.13

Any chance the advancing Rebel Fleet overtook that beacon?

No, rebel fleet was a distance away and the beacon shined in a beautiful blue.
