To troubleshoot this problem it is quite simple, just make sure that:
> That the resolution is set to 1366x768 or lower.
> That the size of the text on Windows is set to default.
(You can go ahead and check that in Control Panel\Appearance\Display)
That should fix it, but if it continues, you could try:
> Playing FTL on windowed mode.
> Disconnect any multiple monitors.
> Running the compatibility troubleshooter.
