Touch Support

Post by AzzA82 »

Please please I love this game, and the only way I can play it on the road is thru window mode on my surface ( which isn't a deal breaker) 'cept I need a keyboard attached to pause the game if you won't add touch support ( a largely requested feature for a while now) then at least add a onscreen pause button so I can play this in real tablet mode. Come on Xmas is quickly approaching would be an AWESOME Xmas pressie for my long road trip I'm going on. Thanks for reading my rant :)

I have to concur with AzzA's sentiment.

Since the game is being released on iPad, it seems reasonable to assume that touch-oriented controls are being developed for FTL. It would be great if the FTL team would consider adding the option to use the touch-oriented controls in the original Windows version of FTL as well, for those of us who like to play FTL on our Windows tablets and touch-enabled laptops, AIOs, or even desktops.

We would hope to transfer the touch interface to PC builds as well, but that will be done after we've finished both the iPad port and the Advanced Edition expansion. As a two man studio, there's only so much we can tackle at once :)

Better to have too much work than none at all right? Glad that FTL has turned out to be such a success!!! I'm also here to request touch screen support for Windows 8 tablets, this feels like a perfect tablet game.

I'm loving Shadowrun Returns on my Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet, it's great not having to drag my keyboard and mouse out every time I want to fire up a game. I'm glad to hear that Windows 8 touch support is on your radar, here's hoping that it gets bumped up a few notches on your priority list :D
