If I press Fn + F12 it activates the battery. Is this supposed to be a hotkey? Because I don't think it is listed as such.
As a side effect each time I try to adjust the sound I activate the battery by mistake...

In Options there is an option to "Configure Keyboard Hotkeys." In the very center of that screen is the hotkey for battery. For me, it's 'B'.
One of 2 things is happening. You were in that screen and had it selected when you wanted to change your volume, so you inadvertantly set the hotkey to "f12", or your computer is for some reason sending the game a "b" when you hit f12.
To fix it, change the hotkey. Either change it back to 'b' or change it to something other than 'b', depending on what it is right now.

Re: Fn + F12 activates the battery?!
Thanks for the advice!
I tried it and it seems like Fn + F12 triggers the "b" key in FTL (steam windows version).
That never happened in any other windows program I have.
It's not just the F12 key either, the Fn key must be pressed at the same time too.
Very peculiar behavior.
