FTL Not Launching-Windows 10

I bought FTL last night and once it finished downloading i tried to launch it. It doesn't launch at all. It sometimes goes to a black screen and then crashing back to steam while FTl is saying "syncing" I've tried verifying my game cache, reinstalling the whole game, deleting the game directory and re installing, updating game drivers. I also noticed i do not have a settings.ini so a friend copy pasted his and i tried it but to no avail.
