So.. i'm in a battle.
I can't FTL because i'm out of fuel.
I can't penetrate the scouts shields with my weapon laser.
They can't penetrate my shields with their weapons.
Neither one of us is doing damage to the other.
I'm stuck in a battle i can't win/lose/escape from; i hope this scenario doesn't happen in the final version

I tried to kill everyone by letting all the air out.. The guys in the med bay heal faster than they choke to death. It was amusing

Use your missiles. They pass through shields. When I ran out of fuel in my playthrough A traveling vendor came by and sold me fuel. That being said, its a rougelike and you are supposed to die a lotnogbog wrote:So.. i'm in a battle.

I love how his phrasing makes it like he has access to a demo. That's going to unintentionally troll the hell out of some people. As for his missiles, I imagine he ran out of those too.

I had that happen with the impossible pirate from Onlive. I ran out of missiles, put the pirate's medbay and weapons systems were on fire and all his crew were dead or low health. It just sat there until Onlive timed out.

Although we never have had a true stalemate in the normal events it's totally possible. Our solution that will be in the game at some point is simply "the enemy ship gets bored and jumps away". :/
If you're having hull problems, I feel bad for you son. I've got 99 problems but a breach ain't one.

It wouldn't remedy the situation though, if the enemy ship's drive or cockpit was damaged and the room is on fire or breached and the AI isn't willing to kill injured crew in an attempt to fix it. The fix (in my situation with the fire or breach that the AI's crew can't fix) has to be that the AI is able to use airlocks/doors to either put out the fire or supply oxygen while fixing the breach.
On the fire though, shouldn't fires eventually burn themselves out in a sealed room?

In that instance I think both crews would likely die of boredom. Which would be beyond hilarious if it was included in the game.
